What is pixel ?
What is pixel density ?
Reason behind Picture quality :
A pixel is the smallest portion of an image or display that a computer is capable of printing or displaying.
What is pixel density ?
- Pixel density describes the sharpness and clarity.
- It is usually measured in PPI (Pixels Per Inch) which refers to number of pixels present per inch on the display.
- Higher the pixel density higher is the sharpness of the content.
- Pixel Density is calculated based on the resolution and size of the display.
Formula : Pixel Density= Root((Horizontal Number of Pixel^2) + (Vertical Number of Pixel^2))/Screen Size.
Reason behind Picture quality :
- Camera image sensor size is the reason for picture quality.
- Image sensors are made up of photo sites, each photo-site correspond to pixel in an image.
- For clear image we need large photo site.
- Larger the size of the photo site more light it can capture as a result the image will be more clear even in low light condition.
Conclusion :
- Higher resolution is important if you want to print large images (like banners).
- For capturing crisp images we need big image sensor and decent resolution camera.
